Lois Basham

Following a career as a radiologist, Lois Basham, is now a multimedia sculptor and filmmaker.

Her sculpture "Liquidity" was in the international exhibition, Sculpture by the Sea, Bondi, Sydney, in 2024.

"Siren Call", her short film, is a finalist in the London International Short Film Festival for 2025 and received an award in the USA Short Film Festival in 2024.

She has been a finalist in the Yering Station Sculpture Awards in 2019, 2021 & 2023.

Lois has exhibited in many group shows in Australia in McClelland Art Gallery, Counihan Art Gallery, Yarra Sculpture Gallery, YAVA Gallery, The Hive Gallery, Toorak Village Sculpture Awards, the Goldcoast Gallery and Sculpture Inside Gallery, Sydney.

Lois is currently doing the Master of Contemporary Art at the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne) after completing a Bachelor of Fine Art (sculpture) at RMIT Melbourne in 2024.

In the Anthropocene era, Lois investigates the concepts of identity and belonging.
